CNNC began shipping Chinese-made fuel assemblies for the Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant, the world’s first HPR1000 (Hualong One) nuclear reactor, on Sept 10. The assemblies first had to pass inspection.
A patent application for an accelerator mass spectrometer developed by the China Institute of Atomic Energy, a subsidiary of CNNC, was recently approved in the US and Japan.
The world’s first AP1000 third-generation nuclear reactor, Unit 1 of Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant, owned by China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), will now be able to use Chinese-made fuel assemblies.
